As a father, I am proud and like to congratulate my son Badr for completing his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of California at Berkley. Dr. Badr F. AlBanna completed his degree on Dec 20, 2013. His thesis title is “Bounds on the Entropy of a Binary System with Known Mean and Pairwise Constraints”. His field of study is a combination of theoretical physics and theoretical neuroscience in the emerging field of leveraging physics theories to model the human brain, what I call ‘physics of the brain’.

Badr makes all of us-- his mother, sister, extended family, and I-- proud for more than just completing this important life milestone. He is a kind young man, generous, and a thought leader in far more than his field of study.
Badr lives in New York City with his life partner Michelle. He accepted a research and teaching fellowship with Fordham University, NYC.
Way to go my son.
